So it has been 2 months. I thought I’d write this update just so I know what is happening in my life.
The basics

Continuing with the basics may be harder than I thought. Okay, it is just the basics, but what are they? The past month got me playing around Adobe XD and Illustrator a lot. There were 2 poster competitions that I joined (thanks to me not knowing when to say no). Both gave me some intense hands-on experience with Illustrator.
This made me realize how little I know of the tool. But hey! Apparently, we (as in the other UX designers) are planning to move away from Ai. Or so I’ve heard.
UX Design Training
I have not looked at this for a month, and I think I’ll have to check the list on Monday. We’ll see what I can cross out from the list.
UX Design Hands-on
We are done with user mapping, we also have some stories ready in case we need some for the backlog. We brainstormed and got some nice ideas together. I did some paper prototypes (wizard-of-oz-wise) which apparently were too perfect. But it was still an awesome experience. I wanted to actually use my hands to create something, and I got to do just that. We then presented the ideas to the team, got some nice ideas, suggestions, and comments back. Then we went back to the drawing board to finalize the research ideas. Just last week I started creating some UI prototypes that may be presented to customers, or maybe not.
Training’s assignment

Being busy with the basics and the hands-on part of the role meant I had very little time to focus on this project. We do have a name now though. Before it was just a “thingy”, but now having a name makes it more concrete. I documented some things like the user journey, stories, created personas and also have some rough prototypes on XD. But I think I might have skipped some necessary steps along the way. So yeah, when the time permits, I will be taking some steps back to see what I have missed.
