Life Decluttering – The Beginning

This may sound to you like some new years resolution. Maybe it is, maybe not. Maybe i’ll start, then forget about it. Just like any resolution I had.

What is it?

It’s getting rid of things that are not necessary. Things that have not been used maybe in a year or longer. Things that were bought because you thought they could be of use someday or they look beautiful.

Why declutter?

It all started with the thought of moving. When we move (to hopefully our own house) I do not want to take too many things with me. So that is where the whole idea started.

Honestly? I have too much useless and worthless things; clothes, bags, shoes, cleansing + care products, mugs, glasses, plates, pots and the list goes on and on.

But the title says “LIFE”

It’s not only the material things I want to declutter. My social media is part of the list as well; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. I mostly feel like begging for attention or validation when using them. Not all of the time though. But most. So yeah!

Now what?

I have already started. And I decided to start B-I-G!

My wardobe has lost half of it’s contents. Some are thrown in the container for goodwill, some are being sold currently.

Same with the bags.

I have deactivated my twitter account.

Cosmetic products landed in the garbage can. Most of them were old, used once and never touched again.

What’s next?

The kitchen and the living room will be next. Books need to go, office materials too.

Facebook needs to be deactivated. Yes, deactivated. I want to keep messenger to talk to my family. Instagram will stay, but personal things will be removed.

Afterwards, I will try to do the 10 minute declutter exercise twice a month.

And what about this blog? Well, we’ll see.

P.S.: I am not going to be a minimalist. That is too much. But I will try to keep my clutter at a minimum.
