Before Covid
Taking days off during the easter has always been part of our yearly plans. It’s when we take a few days off, but get more because of the holidays. We normally just stay in our hometown, take short trips everyday. To another city, to the zoo, and to the dino park just to name a few.
During Covid
I was honestly thinking about working in the mornings and just taking the afternoons off. Because, what do we do? We really can’t go anywhere with the current situation. So work from 7 till 11, then do something in the afternoon.
Vacation came
I decided not to work on the first day because I knew I was going to sleep longer. And that was all it took for me to throw my plans of working during vacation off board. It felt so good. Not worrying about work and keeping my son preoccupied.
What did we do?
We had breakfast together. Played a lot of games. Grilled meat almost everyday for lunch. Went strolling for hours. Hiked to the Humbergturm. Played some more, ate some more and played some more.
I felt like I did too much mom-chores as well. Putting dishes in the dishwasher then taking them out, cleaning pots, washing/drying/folding clothes. But this did not really feel like work at all.

I really enjoyed the time off. It was relaxing amidst all this chaos.
So the next time I work, I will probably plan a day off or two during this Covid-19 lockdown.
